Alright so I think I've decided on the turk roaches, I wanted something that bred fast, but didn't want to deal with the climbing of the lobsters right now, maybe later.  And plus the Turks are smaller so my adult salamanders, skink, and leopard gecko can eat them.

But, it says the Turks lay egg cases and they hatch in 2-4 weeks depending on heat and humidity, and if the humidity is too low, they won't hatch.

Alaska is really, really dry, so I'm worried this is going to pose a problem.

Do I just mist them more, or what?

I was going to go with the tub and hot glued screen method like suggested multiple places on the forum.

I haven't ordered them yet, but I'm probably going to order 1000 small so I can feed now, and 1000 adults to start a big colony.

Thanks for all the help! Smiley

I have lobsters so I am not familiar with the turks but yes I would think misting them more often would help.  If they are sensitive to humidity I would get a gauge to measure it.

If you have trouble with humidity you can use a substrate and mist it daily.  I personally do not mist but I live it a humid climate.  Just be carefull not to overmist as this will cause mold and or mites.
