I'm taking my mom to see a Cher concert near the end of May.   Grin  I know my mom also likes Cirque du Soleil but even the cheap seats are expensive and considering how much I paid for the Cher tickets (I got the good seats) I think she'll object to me spending so much on them.  The Cris Angel show with the Cirque du Soleil people is cheaper but with the flashing lights and smoke machines it'll be one big migraine and asthma attack for me.

Does anyone know of anything they'd recommend?  We'll be flying there on a Friday and coming back Sunday morning.

Where are you staying?  Many of the hotels have nightly shows....some are adult oriented, some comic, some musical, etc.  Generally free, or discounted when you stay there.
Vegas never closes, so the shows run until very late.  You should be able to simply find that last minute "surprise" really easy either at your hotel or at a neighboring hotel, especially down the strip

We're staying at Circus Circus, I got a package flight and hotel deal booked during a sale time.  I just looked at their website again and if those African Acrobats are still there that would probably be a good show to see. There's the adventuredome and other shows to see as well.  I like things planned and I keep trying to plan this the same way I would any other vacation.

My mom has arthritis in her knees and can't walk too far, but I seem to keep forgetting that you don't have to go far to find entertainment in Las Vegas lol.

Vegas is like no other place.  I planned a trip there once.........every detail.  Only to wish i hadn't.  I missed out on half of what i wanted to do because of my conflicting plans.
Things are definately close enough for your mom to be able to get around, and most hotels have courtousy assistance for the "older generation".  Taxi's are extremely available also, and without far to go, the bill isn't too bad if you consider the REASON you're taking the taxi.  There are also other forms of transportation up and down the strip from hotel to hotel.

Have a blast.  Keep your money in your front pocket and your wallet in the safe.

in the luxor there is a place called bodies that is very cool...caesars palace has the forum shops...and there is a pet store called exotic pets that is amazing....the mirage has a secret garden habitat that is great too....circus circus has some free shows daily...any circue de soleil show is well worth it i recommend O or mystere having seen most but the criss angel one.....there are places all over the strip with discount tickets to shows most you get for about half price but they very rarely feature a circue de soleil show... hope this helps a little
