So yesterday the whole exotic crew went for a routine vet visit.  Falkor (7mo) weighed in at just under 500gr and Atrayeu (4.5-5mo) weighing in at 200gr. All were healthy, except Falkor's Fecal came back with pinworms and coccidia. She told me that she normally wouldnt treat pinworms, but his count was extremely high. He has been started on Albon (she says were starting with the most conservative dose as possible.) and Panacur. The vet said the meds may cause gastro upset, possibly causing loss of appetite and to help combat it, I could give him blueberry or raspberry soy yogurt. Only problem is, He likes the meds better then the yogurt.  Undecided Are there any powdered probiotics that I could possibly mix in his meds?
Thanks!!

Mix the meds with the yogurt?  If it's the ingredients in yogurt that would help his appetite, you could always mix anything he likes into the yogurt so that to get them, he has to get the yogurt.

I think she mentioned it being a soy yogurt.  I didn't even know they made soy yogurt, but I guess it makes sense since they can make fake milks and creamers out of it too.  Smiley

Yah, you can find it in the health/organic food section of most super markets. I got mine at Krogers.

Thanks! I'll look into that. Believe me.. my vet stressed a million times "Get SOY yogurt... not regular. It has to be SOY!"  Cheesy She's really a fantastic vet.  I am so afraid that he'll stop eating... Ive read some horror stories about meds and beardies. Luckily, a couple hours after the 1st dose of both (and the dreaded yogurt) he put down some hornworms and crickets. Im such a anxious mommy Tongue

Well, his appetite has drastically declined since. I got only two small hornworms and a mL of yogurt down him yesterday. He's ignored the hornworms today. I hate to see him not eat Undecided

I hope the supplement gets here soon. He ate one large hornworm today with 1mL of the yogurt.  Should I be concerned with the minimal intake? How little or long should he go before I consider force feeding? I really dont wanna do that if I dont absolutely have to  Undecided
