So I'm a new owner of two little dragons, ones about oh 2 1/2 inches and the other is about 3, without their tails of course, and was wondering if anyone knows the reason for them "waving". They seem to do it mostly when they're in their basking spot. They just sorta pick up their arm, spread their little toes and slowly move their whole arm in a circle.

It is a passive response to another dragon or sometimes even a reflection, lol.  Smaller dragons, or females will wave to show submission to the larger more dominant dragon.

jeff pretty much summed it up but in addition to what he said, are your dragons housed together?

yea, they are housed together, was told at the pet store they'd be fine because they were together there as well with no real signs of aggression. think maybe because they in a new larger cage they now wanna show dominance. It is however their first few hours in the cage, just had them for only about 7 hours now.

You will want to separate them.  It is just too much to risk one injuring or even killing the other.

to add to that...never listen to a pet store...i work at one so im not being biased...99.999% of the time they give out outdated or false information in order to help sell more of their products

2.5 and 3 inches are still way skeptical on claming sex of the dragon. it could be totaly different when they get older and mature a little

So I wanted to say thanks to everyone's advice and info. I have been looking all around for a divider for my cage and finally got one and my second heat lamp should be coming in tomorrow, friggen pet store was out of the lil ones i like. Now I just gotta figure out the feeding thing, started off with puttin crickets right in with em but well... they all weren't getting eaten and stuff, so now I been checking out pictures you all have on the forums and i might go with the small plastic dish inside the cage, see how that works out for me. Is so many differant articles on beardies is kinda hard to learn the "right" way. Anyway, any suggestions are welcome to that too, i'm sure i'll have to try a few diff methods till i get it right. Luckily Belle and Rugo seem to be pretty patient lil dragons Smiley

Instead of paying the petstore price for a heat light you can get a regular household flood bulb and it will do the same job. There really is no absolute right way, but there are a few wrong ways. Just make sure whatever you do doesn't carry serious risks for your babies and you'll be fine.
exactly...thats my philosophy on it..i just got into a debate at work with a stubborn customer who prefers the looks rather than the safety side of things
