I think that substrates are a thing of chance. That is to say it DEPENDS. And by that (lol) I mean that it will happen sometimes and other times it wont. If beardies eat substrates, thats bad. If they don't, good. Therefore, I say EVERY substrate is good and bad. If you get sand and your beardie eats it, remove it. If you get sand and your beardie doesn't, keep it. Simple enough. I won't say terrible things about substrates I have had no experience with. I used to have sand, until I decided to go with carpet liners.

I just switched to the carpet liner and my beardie loves it.  I still had 2 bags of the calci sand and took it to a different pet store  that i baught it from and traded it in for the carpet (2pack).  the bags of sand were almost 10 a bag and the carpet was like 16.00$ so i think i got a better deal.  If you think that carpet still aint good let me know.  Im like hey at least she cant eat it.

Yea I will pick up the solid part of the "POOP" wheni see it.  Every week i will change it.  I got a 2 pack so when one gets to soild i can wash it and put the other one in it.  when they get really worn out i will buy new ones.

in the future to save you money and the frustration, you can pick up a huge roll of outdoor carpet that feels like the reptile carpet for like $20 at home depot and you can cut to size so its not so much of a pain in the butt to replace and wash
