Hey, my parents are originally from Spain, Malaga to be exact. I wanted to know where everyone here is from (if outside of the US). If you're from here, where are you a descendent from? No matter how far back it goes..

English, scottish, and french.  My dad was born in England and so was my mom's mom.  My mom's dad was of Scottish descent with many generations having lived in Quebec (I think as far back as the 17th century) so some french was mixed in there as well.

I sometimes tell people that an assassination and a coup had to happen for me to exist.  My dad wanted something different so he had applied to two different jobs outside of his country (he was in England before he moved to Canada).  The job he wanted was in Nigeria (could be wrong about the country but around there somewhere) and apparently the people who interviewed him gave him the impression that he was going to get the job.  But then the assassination and coup happened and he heard back about the job in Canada and went there instead.  He later went to university here and became a geologist and at his next job his co-workers dared him to ask out a woman who would become my mom.   Grin

World War II had to happen for my mom to be born.  My grandmother was a war-bride.
