Our puppies are 6 days old now.  I'm wondering what length of time the mother can be away from her pups?  Lucy (the mom) leaves her pups to go relax on the couch... but seems like she doesn't go back on her own.  Generally after an hour, I make her go back, but last night I waited and after a little over 2 hours I had to SHOVE her back in the puppy area.  (She's a stubborn girl.)

Should I just leave her and let her go back on her own?  What if she waits a few hours?Huh?

Anyone know???

im not 100% on this but i think every 3 hours she has to feed them...i could be wrong since its been years since ive had puppies but that is my guess

Yeah, i thought it was every 4 hours but same i STILL could be wrong cause my dogs havn't had pups
