Hi I have decided to get a semi-aquatic reptile. I've never had one before and was wondering which ones you would recomend.
P.S I want something chaling so nothing like a turtle.

I had some really neat critters once.. Fire belly newts. I had them in a 55 gallon, 5 females 1 male. 1/3rd of the tank had dry, 2/3s was water.. They are active, neat to watch, and I saw young after the second year.
Do a bit of research, but I think you can take a 20 long and make a really nice enclosure for them. Hope this helps out !

The only problem with caiman lizards is they need a huge tank i like the idea of a water monter though

caimen's are no comparison to a water monitor. Those bad boys get huge.

I like gators because if you ever get too big and you don't want them anymore they are quite delicious battered and fried. There is something to be said about edible pets!
