ive been shopping online for all my bearded dragon supplies and was wondering if a heat rock would affect the BD?

They don't sense heat well from below, so all heat should come from above. During the day bright white light bulbs should be used. If your home temps drop below 65*f at night, a ceramic heat emitter or a heat mat mounted to the side or back of the enclosure will keep temps adequate.
Heat rocks are also known to malfunction and cause serious burns. It's best to avoid them completely.

NO HEAT ROCKS KILL LIZARDS AND SNAKES ALL THE TIME! pet shops such as pets at home may tell you there great BUT reptiles like getting as close as possible to their heat source and heat rocks will burn them if they sit on them to long! Buy a heat lamp (i have two a Ceramic one for back ground heat and a normal heat bulb for a hot spot) as it is more natural and is far safer.
