it would depend on the spider you get but the kind i have are classed as docile and beginner friendly if you go for a tree climber youd need a tank maybe 1ft by 8inch by ft and half tall 3-4 inch of a substrate depends on species as what kind maybe a piece of wood, fake plant something they can build a web to also makes it look pretty heat mat and thats about it small lid or water dish and away you go as long as you keep eye on humidity and temp cleaning you remove any dead food and shed skin if you cant get to that the dead food is most important.  if its a ground dwelling spider same sort set up just a tank thats less high so maybe 1ft by 1ft by 8inch high and something it can hide under behind plastic plant pot or piece of wood propped against side that it can burrow under

thanks janie you kinda get used to them as they are so different to house spiders and yep very easy to keep alot of fun to watch as well but the pleasure is seeing them and knowing apart from a couple locust a week, wipe the inside of the tree climbers glass and water they need nothing want nothing make no noise and still look pretty lol

my chilean rose (peaches) and the river rust rump (copper) are about the same size now but copper has a few more inchs to grow he will probably end up the biggest that said most will grow to about 6-8inches so nothing excessivly huge in size just yet i may invest in a birdeater size later in life when kids leave home
