Hello all this is my first post in years.

I am currently preparing to get a new beardie. I am building an enclosure that will be 48"x24"x20". I am not sure if I should use a A mercury like a power sun or a fluorescent tube. Any opinions on which is better or worse? Any opinions would be greatly appreciated.

Until megaray fixes their MVB bulbs stick with a reptisun 10.0 fluorescent that runs the entire length of the enclosure.

Just keep in mind, that the tube needs to be within 6-8 inches above the dragon, and a separate Bright White bulb ( like a house hold flood light for heat) also needs to be placed above the basking site...
Both should be where your new dragon can get both rays from those lights.

Hope this helps.

With such a big enclosure you may want additional light on the cool side.  Household energy saver "coil" bulbs work great for extra light without the heat.
