How does a bd get mites? It sounds like a migraine waiting to happen.

my bd has mites and the vet said she thinks it was because i put a new subsrate in his tank anythin new can bring them into ur viv and give them him and also dont let him out side or give him anythin from out side they can pick them up from there too ! its really hard work to get rid off them  Sad

Mites tend to be a snake issue and if you buy particle substrate from a petr store where the snakes or other animals have mites you run the risk of introducing them to your BD.

Just another reason to switch from a particle substrate.
