hi all,

i recently purchased a bearded dragon about 4 days ago. I'm not sure of the age but i would guess about 3-4months. The day i brought him home he was eating like a champ, and the next day he still wouldn't turn his nose up at some crickets. but from then onwards he  hasn't eaten a single thing, i have done some research on feeding and there are alot of different opinions on what dragons can eat. i have tried peas, carrots, green beans, dandelion leafs.crickets, and some juvenile food from pet store. I am aware that this could be down to relocation stress but then my argument would be..why would he eat for the first 2 days, any help would be extremely appreciated as I'm getting worried now.

p.s if someone could also give me a list of what dragons can eat that too would be grand Smiley

thanks.

The foods shown in green (link above) are the healthiest choices for your dragon.

Hi there... It's called relocation stress.. You can cover his/her glass with paper, on all sides... Give it a couple of days, then remove one paper.. Continue doing so until all the glass is uncovered.

Also in this time frame, keep handling down to a minimum...
Hope this helps out.

OK i will try that out thanks, should i leave a peep hole so i can check on things or just cover completely. should i still offer crickets and veg 2-3 times a day as normal or should i cut down until his stress is over with?

Peep in from above.. If this is an all glass enclosure.  If not, then cover as high as he can go, and peek in above that level.
Yes go ahead and offer the food as normal.
What we are doing with the covering is allowing him to get accustomed to his new "world" and life with you.

Normally this lasts around a couple of days to a couple of weeks.
Hope this helps out.
