I have also noticed that my humidity is staying around 50%...how do i get this down?

I honestly don't worry about the humidity in my enclosures until it reaches 60% or so. If you have water in there, removing it will help a little. Higher temps also help - temps as high as 120* on the basking surface is fine if the dragon will bask. Make sure it's measured with a digital thermometer with a probe or a temp gun - all other types of thermometers don't provide accurate surface temps.

I don't tend to worry about my humidity either.. and I live in the Deep south.

Beyond that, what P_F said I agree with.
