Hey guys I'm having an issue with my little Jumbuck. Lately the past couple weeks hes been acting very strange. This typically happens every few days or so but now its happened two days in a row. He's been acting very wild, not aggressive where he puffs out his beard or anything. But for almost the entire day he will run around the cage and try to escape. He'll bop his nose at the glass and claw his way out. He'll jump around, run around the cage, bascially try to escape. Has anyone had this experience before? I know its kind of hard to explain, it may be hes over a year old now, possibly 14 months and he could be looking for a mate? Just to let everyone know all his temperature and humidity specs are normal 120F basking, 40% humidity, his feeding habits are good, he's actually starting to eat more squash and veggies than roaches. Any advice you guys may have or have had personal experiences with this will help me in determining whats the best course of action to help my little guy. Thanks.

This is pretty normal behavior for dragons. When they scratch at the glass we call it glass dancing.
We'd be happy to go over your husbandry if you'd like to answer this standard list of questions: Just copy and paste the list into your reply to make it easier...
1. How old is your dragon? 2. How large is your enclosure (tanks size in gallons or measurement Length x Depth x Height)? 3. What exact brand of UVB source do you have, if any? Is it a tube, coil, or Mercury Vapor? 4. How old is the UVB bulb? 5. How far is the UVB source from the basking spot? 6. How hot is the basking spot in ºF or ºC? 7. What temperature is the cool side? 8. How exactly is this temperature measured (sticker thermometer, digital thermometer with a probe, temp gun, other)? 9. If using a probe, it is placed flush against the basking spot? 10. What live feeders does your dragon get? How many are offered? How often are they offered per day / week? 11. What Calcium and/or Vitamin supplements do you use (brand name and product name please)? 12. How often do you dust with calcium or vitamin powder? 13. What exact greens, fruits, or veggies do you feed your dragon? Does he eat them at all? 14. Hydration. Do you mist your dragon, have a water bowl, or soak your dragon in a bath? 15. If you soak your dragon in a bath, how long do you soak for, how often, and what temperature water? 16. What type of substrate do you use (shelf liner, sand, walnut, tiles, newspaper, etc)?

To me it looks like glass attacking lol. hes glass danced before when he was little but not this extreme. he usually calms down toward the afternoon. I guess he gets tired after all that running around.

There are only 2 things I see that you'll need to change. 1 - if your tank is a standard 55 gallon, it's only 12" wide. It will need to be upgraded to one that's at least 18" wide. 2 - if your UVB is actually only an inch from the basking surface, you'll need to move it. 4" is the absolute minimum distance - any closer than that allows the dragon to get too much UVB, which can be as harmful as too little. 6" to 8" is the recommended distance. Is the UVB a coil or tube type?

I should've been more specific with my tank. Its 4 feet long 24 inches wide and 22 inches high. Not sure whether if its 55 gallons or not. And my uvb is tube type. Ill take ur advice and move the basking spot away from the uvb. That could be the cause of his behavior since I changed his home setup a couple weeks ago. I built the tank back in february

Sounds to me like you have an angsty teenager on your hands. Your dragon has just his puberty and is likely male. He should mellow out eventually.
