Heating/lighting question

Does anyone know or have any info on whether you can use the zoo med Daylight Blue reptile bulb as a basking bulb ?
it says on it ,, 1) provides UVA the wavelength that stimulates normal feeding behavior in reptiles.. 2) Full spectrum daylight bulb heating reptile or amphibian terrariums..3) can be used with the reptisun 5.0 UVB for proper calcium absorption.. 4) uncoated blue glass for better heat transfer..  what do you all think..?

I have been using a normal white light basking bulb 60w but it blew and i went the pet shop to replace it and noticed these new zoo med bulbs and thought id try it ( i am also using the repti UVB 10.0 tube )

I tend to use either flood lights in the winter months, or a regular house hold light in the warmer months..

Not sure if that light will be as cheap as those I mentioned, or as effective.. That's your call.

your right there a lot more expensive ,,,, it was £5.79.
i was wonderin wether they are as effective as a normal bulb but i suppose short time will tell...

Full spectrum lighting is somewhat helpful psychologically for your dragon.  I find it to be more important to just have a brightly lit enclosure, I use a household coil bulb on the cool side to make it bright all around.  Rather than buying bulbs marketed for reptiles, you can save money by buying bulbs made for humans that are full spectrum.  In the US we have GE Edison aka Reveal bulbs that provide a fuller spectrum than the normal soft white styles.  Halogen bulbs tend to have a fuller spectrum than normal incandescent.
