you prob think am a rubbish owner and i shouldn't have one but am worried about him all i want is the best for him  Sad

I didn't mean to come across harshly, I just wanted to make sure you had access to all the great info in the caresheet.  We love answering questions, so *never* feel ashamed to ask anything!

I'd also like to add that you are the best type of owner, one that really cares and seeks out answers.  Unfortunately most owners just go by what the pet stores tell them or worse just neglect their animals.

We do not think you are a bad owner, we do know that people don't automatically know how to care for dragons, we were the same way at one point, you know.

The pink and bubbling could be serious, has he been scratching his face against anything?  He may be bleeding.  Give him a bath and see if that skin over his nose will loosen up.  See if you can identify any scratch or damaged scales.  If the shedding skin is taken off too early or is forced off the still developing scales underneath can be damaged and cause bleeding; is it possible that the shed came off too early?  If so you can dab on some hydrogen peroxide on the wounded scale with a cotton swab (q-tip) to clean it up and apply a little antibiotic ointment to prevent infection.  Please keep a close eye on that area and look for any signs of infection such as swelling or pus.  If in doubt you may want a vet visit to diagnose and possibly prescribe some oral antibiotics for reptiles.

i will keep a close eye on that it doesn't look like he has blood on him or wounded its just that nostil that i was worried about and he is rubbing his Head on his log i and its the side of the bad nostril he also scratches it with his back leg would it be best to take him to the vet ?

and ANOUTHER question i was thinking of putting him on pinkies it said in my book on beds that pinkies are better for them but can only get them at 5 month up the only prob is i don't know his age so what i was going ask is he is 11 inch maybe bigger now could you give him pinkies on there size ? and are they really better for them ? just my pet store is far away and he goes through 100 hoppers in 8 days maybe less but if there not good for him them i will stick to the hoppers

thanks for all your help it makes it allot easier

I would only feed pinkies to a severely mal-nourished dragon that needed to fatten up fast, and even then there can be complications.  Please read through our caresheet thoroughly.  There is a lot of bad info in those old books, most of that info is based on when bearded dragons were first brought over from Australia and since then there's been a lot of good new info put out (based on observations of captive bearded dragons).

Feeding too many pinkies can result in fatty liver disease (which can lead to death), and impaction (which can also kill your dragon).
