Heya I've just bought a terrarium and it is completely empty. I plan to get a bearded dragon and would like to know exactly what I need to complete my setup. (I live in the UK) Pictures/Links would be great.

Many thanks

You'll require a UVB florescent bulb and fixture.  If you can find the Arcadia or the Repti sun you'll be on the right track.
A heat light and fixture.  A regular house hold bulb will supply heat.
A digital thermometer or temp gun to measure temp
Something for the dragon to bask on.
something to put green food on.
something to use as substrate (flooring)  I like non adhesive shelf liner.

hi there ..

Im also in the uk and ive learnt everything i know from this forum the peolple are really helpful and know everything you need to know...so here goes , il tell you what i have as my basic setup and i hope it helps ...
I have a 3ft * 18" * 18*...
my substrate is walnut sand (I know some people advise against any sands ) but i have had no problems with this and my beardie is one now... Cost around £5 per kilo and i have 4 kilos in my viv..
my basking light is a Reptiluxe 40w white basking bulb.... Cost around £4.50
my UVB is a tube type Reptisun 10.0... Cost around £39 ( DONT go near any of the curly type compact UVB they are really no good for your dragon ,, Believe me i have learnt this the hard way ). You also need the starter unit for the tube ..Cost around £40..
I have a heat mat (taped to the side and only for cold nights or winter use ) Cost around £20..
............... hope this helps .............  Smiley

There is a good reason we never suggest sands - especially not ground walnut. If you have a strong stomach, see why for yourself -
