From what I understand, yes, a dragon can hold sperm for a long period, in reserve to fertilize eggs.

Hope this helps.

Double take dear.  You think they're fertile.  They were together.  You observed the whole time.  They did not mate, he just danced around.

If i understood correctly, no, they're not fertile.

ahhhh gotcha.
might be.  if the other clutch produced both fertile and infertile eggs, it usually means that the sperm stored is low unless the number of infertiles was just a few.

i do indeed realize that i am not always easy to understand... Cheesy

yea her first clutch ( from what i wrote down)

was 5 fertiles and 39 infertiles
second was 3 fertiles and 42 infertiles
and the third was 1 fertile and 7 infertiles...

so thats why i was thinking...hm can they hold sperm? because i remember i went away for the weekend a few weeks before the first clutch and the person who was watching them wasnt really watching them, just watering and feeding...and when i came home ratchet was in the tank...which to me seemed like the most likely amount of time for any patty cake to happen Wink

LOL..........yup, my guess is that when the deed was done!

The amount of fertiles was extremely low, especially concerning Herc's bout with laying the last bit of time.  The decrease in the original number indicates that either the sperm count was considerably low, or you may have been looking at a infertile egg that just originally appeared fertile.  it happens sometimes.

Looking at that decrease, it's doubtful there would be retainage for this upcoming cycle, but not impossible.

fertile? yes?

im incubating 6 of them..the ones that look the most fertile. I'd do all of them but i cant handle this many. im trying to think about when they got together, i watch them pretty closely, and ive separated them by rooms. unless a few months ago when i went away they played paddy cake and it really worked.. which is super likely...
