iv got 2 thermometer with probes
hot end 101.f     
cool end 83.f    afta 2hrs in 3ft viv does this sound about right?

we have had to install therma stat b'cuz y-day we left baskin lamp on for 12hrs and got to 120.f

How old is the dragon ?  For an adult, you are pretty good.  For a younger dragon, perhaps you can bring that first temp up to at least 105.

It's perfectly normal and fine for the temps to climb during the day. Thermostats don't provide the consistently hot, bright environment that dragons need to thrive. I wouldn't suggest using one.

so theres no chance of beardy baking to death or anything like that?
my son said 10x weeks old...but we havent got a beardy in there,cus we going on hols ...but will have one aged approx 10x weeks when we get back...just want to get temps right..

As long as the enclosure has a cool end where he can cool off when he needs to, he'll be fine. Many dragons prefer the hotter temps. I have had a couple that won't bask in any temps under 120*.
