Have you tried a t-shirt in the cage yet?

take t-shirt you have worn and before washing it, place it in the VIV for a a couple of days.

then very slowly start by putting your hand in the cage for a few minutes, a few times a day, but do not touch him.

Then once you get to a point where he will not freak with just you hand in there move it closer to him each day.

Eventually you will be able to hold him, you just need paitience.

We all understand your frustration, but please watch the language. We have many small kids that view these boards with their parents.

Fliehigh gave you excellent advice. Try not to touch him, just let him get used to your hand being near.
