Fecal sample just came back positive for "strongid pods". (Was a voice mail, I assume they meant pinworms... I'll find out for sure later.) I don't think she's too badly affected by them at the moment at least, she still eats and whatnot. I have a root canal this afternoo but I'm going to stop by the vet afterwards and pick up whatever medication they have for her.

I hear meditating a beardie is hard on their systems. What will I need to do, aside from keepin the tank very clean and hydrating daily? I read something about a probiotic?

depends on the medication.

I'd have some probiotic at hand.  I prefer benebac.

I just picked up some benebac. They gave me two doses of pyramith, .01ml each. Give one dose by mouth, then give the other after 2 weeks.

How should I give the benebac?

I'm assuming you mean Pyrimethamine.  Use it exactly as it's prescribed.

The benebac you can give at any time of the day and does not require heat or light to work.  Do not give it at the same time as medications.  Medications are designed to target bacteria and micro organisms, benebac contains bacteria.  Given at the same time, the medication destroys what you want to keep in tact with the benebac.  So give them at opposite times.  The dosage is easy, and it can't be over dosed if maintained within reason.  If you're using small individual tubes, 1/2 the tube can be given per day.  The full scale large plunger is a bit different as far as administration, but the dosage is the same.

The medication is labelled "Pyramith". I suppose it could be a shortened, misspelled Pyrimethamine. I will give her some benebac tomorrow. Is it meant to be given orally?

Yep. Orally is how it's given. Chances are your dragon will go bananas for it too

Oh good. She took the medication well enough, never had a problem with having her mouth opened. If the stuff tastes good, I'm sure there won't be an issue there either. Thanks for the help so far fellas Smiley I'd be in the dark otherwise.
