this is an update.. he still does not let me touch him or even get near him! its getting very old, i want to play with him and stuff but i cant! he runs away from me all around the cage until eventually he gets in a very aggressive posture with his mouth open. idk what to do i want to ensure he is friendly when he is fully grown, because right now i got him in feb 27, he was a very small baby, but now he is alot bigger but he is still terrified of me! idk how to make him not scared i mean he wont even eat his crickets until im out of the room completley.. its ridiculous and im getting annoyed, i just really want him to be nice if not nice, tolerant and he is not even that. what do i do?

alright so i think its stress thats the main factor, because.. his natural color is pretty orangy but he gets dark often especially when i get near him, also he has those "stress rings" under his belly and stuff. so what are the most effective ways to reduce stress?

You can try covering the sides of the enclosure. It works wonders on new arrivals and my frilled dragon.

I think it should. If he's very stressed this may reduce it which will in turn make him nicer. Have you tried sitting on the floor in the bathroom with him with the door closed and just let him wander around and come to you or entice him to come over with yummy treats? My friend had a "demon" beardie until she was about 1 and a half and she changed the room she was in and that was it. It was like a light switch on her mood. Might wanna consider that too.

you can get a small box or pillowcase or towel and wrap him up in the enclosure and lift him out. Unfortunately in order to get him used to you he will have to be exposed to some stress of being taken out. You will have to use somewhat of a firm but not crushing grip on him.

i just went and bought a background for him.. he seems to like it Smiley still yet to do the bathroom thing, not to mention the background really makes the cage look a lot better
