How long can they be housed together? After that age should they be totally alone, or can they be put with the same sex. I separated a male and all he tried to do was get through the glass, even though he couldnt se the other.

hatchies can be housed together in small groups until dominance begins showing the smallest signs.
yes, Totally alone.
Breeding takes a few minutes tops.  Male dragons are...................well male. 
No housing together necessary.

Beardies should always be housed alone. The only exception being hatchlings from a clutch you just got. Males and males is almost a guarantee of fighting. Female and male will breed and female and female can cause issues too. Females will act as a male and force the other into a cycle so she will lay infertiles.
