Quick update, Lizzie is 19 months old, her weight was 590 grams about 3 months ago. (she liked her food), then she just stopped eating, went down to 518 grams. Have had her to 2 different vets, this second vet I have started using seems to be very caring, the first one was useless (my opinion). Have been checked for paresites, now found. X-ray showed she was a little constipated, that was addressed, No eggs,. She has a reptile sun 10 UVB bulb, basking area is 105 F. She is in a 55 gallon with shelf paper. I have been force feeding mostly crickets and some baby food, that is what the vet suggested. (As soon as you get the cricket in her mouth she chews it like she always did, doesn't try to spit it out). Her weight is back up to 535, its almost like she goes into a trance and forgets she is suppose to eat, been pooping every other day. Any suggestions?

Have been checked for paresites, now found Now or none? I'll admit that 72 grams is concerning. However, take this into account. When people exceed certain weights, they diet. Excess weight they may carry affects their cardio vascular health. Animals are the same in how added weight affects them. They have their own means of control. And at times that control can have negative impacts on them. Considering she is eating the substitution food you're providing indicates that her problem is most likely boredom with her food, her regiment or her surroundings. Baby food isn't something i'd keep giving her. They have a tendency to get "hooked" on it and want nothing leafy in the future. And it lacks the pulp fiber her veggies do. That fiber keeps her intestinal tract in good working order. I'd try changing up her veggies, throw something in there you wouldn't normally feed her. move her lighting around, or reposition her enclosure. The change could feasibly jump start her appetite.

Sorry, NONE found. I am so worried about her, I know she is gaining some weight back, but I feel so bad having to force feed her. (She use to love to eat, I am SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO confused). No one on these forums warns you about the Beardies little quirks that will drive you CRAZY. I am going to change her house around and move her lights , I am to the point I will try just about anything to get my baby girl to eat by herself. As far as her veggies go, I have tried squash, kiwi, peppers, carrots, strawberry, grapes, apple she wont touch any of it, what does yours like the best?

I would suggest a variety of worms. She could just be tired of her normal meal. I feed my bearded draogn lots of different worms at different times. Some worms i feed max are mealworms, phoenix worms, wax worms, and pretty soon i will feed him silk worms. He never seems to be tired of worms, so try to feed your bearded dragon a variety of worms. Also, I am glad you saw 2 different vets. that helps.

Her live food has been a mixture of crickets, superworms, butterworms and reptile worms. wouldn't even try the reptile worms, ate one butterworm after dropping it several times about 2 months ago. Her favorite has always been crickets. I might try the roaches, couldn't hurt.

Mealworms aren't a healthy choice and most experienced keepers will never feed them. Waxworms should never be more than a treat - a couple once or twice a week.

Breath sweetheart... You've made changes... you see weight gain... I honestly feel that since there is weight gain, all you need is time and patience..
I have one that started out that way... Now, Gemini is the longest and largest of all 4 of my dragons...
Hope this helps out.
