Hiya

How long can my beardie stay out of his vivarium for? Hes 2 years old and loves to sit on the back of the sofa and sit with my 6 year old son. I dont want him getting ill but he really does love being handled and being part of the family.

As long as he has at least an hour in the mornings to warm up, and a couple of hours after eating, he can be out as much as you and he both want. Just keep an eye on his body temp. If he feels cool, he should go back into his enclosure to warm up.

If your enclosure is on the the floor or not too high off the ground just leave it open with a ramp (if needed) for him to have access to it. Mine will usually go in on his own when he needs UV or heat
