Who rides a bicycle? I'm sure there are some of you here that do. I haven't in years. 6 or 7 years ago I rode a few times, short distances on flat ground. It's been over a decade since I rode hard. Today, my wonderfully sweet 15 year old gifted me with a wonderful surprise! He's completely refurbished a 1980's style 12 speed mountain bike for me and he bought a "ride-along" (back seat attachment) for his little sister to ride with us.
We just got home from the most amazing bike ride in my life. The 3 of us literally circled through the entire town - it's a little town, but it's still a good 7 or 8 miles. My body is screaming at me that I'm too old for this. I say I'm not - after all, I've been working hard at losing weight and getting in shape just for things like this!

so kewl Crystal!  Great thought from him, and a great way to do what you want as far as your goal of losing weight is concerned.  Good luck with all that!  I'm sure with that kind of support, you're a sure thing. Grin

I've lost close to 40 pounds in a little over 3 months. 5 more and I'll reach my goal - I'll be the same size I was just after my 15 year old was born. The bike was his "reward" to me for working so hard at it. I'm very blessed to have such wonderful sons!

It wasn't really all that hard Amber. I cut most red meats and breads from my diet and stopped eating junk food and drinking soda and sugary coffee. Other than that, I just started doing more outdoors with the kids. They love long walks and adventures, so we made a weekly thing of finding something we'd all enjoy. All of that and chasing after a very active 5 year old helped LOL
