I'm still trying to find how to feed my Dragon butternut.
Do I boil it to make it soft? Or is it ok for them to eat it hard the way it is?
And how big of a piece or how fine do u chop it up?
Like.is there teeth that stronge to chew something that hard?

Use a shredder or something to break the squash into bite size pieces.  Serve fresh.

That's about it.

Hope this helps.

As for the teeth... they are strong enough to crush a human finger when fight/flight is in process... I would think they could easily chomp through squash.

The skin has a lot of nutrients in it. For all of the hard squashes, I simply wash them and then cut them into small pieces and shred in the food processor.

My lizard goes through stages....either he loves it and only wants butternut squash, or he's not interested!  So pickey!!!!!!  He is 2 years old and is a HUGE spoiled sucky boy!  When I feed it I cut off the outside and use a cheese grader on the soft inside.
