Miss Priss- I miss you baby girl!

« on: March 30, 2011, 12:26:08 PM »

I've had 'Booger' for...lets see...since January. He's set up correctly. He is offered appropriately sized roaches 3X daily...but he'll eat maybe 5 and then he 'dances' to be let out of the container. He's grown a little bit, but it seems he should be a lot bigger, and I just don't get it. His temps are at 110, he's on newspaper, he's bathed at least 3X a week, his roaches are supplemented, and he munches on his greens occasionally. His poo looks good, he's nice and brightly colored (doesn't look stressed). He just doesn't have a big appetite.

I think I'll be stopping by the store tonight and picking up some Pedialite and baby food in the hopes that I can jump start his appetite. FYI, he's not thin at all. He's got a normal sized belly, just isn't eating enough, like a little baby should be. I'll try to get a weight on him and some pics to show. Maybe I'm being paranoid and he's growing at a normal rate...don't know. Let me go weigh him...

Ok, size comparison pics.
When I first got him/her:

And today:

Am I being paranoid or is he just tiny for his age? The first pics are from January.

he might be growing a little slower than average, but some babies just do that.  Then one day you wake up to this never ending food machine.  he's not abnormally small or small enough that I would worry.

He seems like he takes after my little Dracen. He's never had a huge appetite even though everything has always been perfect in his home. He's just a light eater and a slow grower. If you're really worried you can get a fecal done, but I wouldn't worry too much. He looks healthy to me.

Thanks Smiley  I found a nice bowl and left some roaches in it so he can eat at his own pace.
