i have had my baby dragon for about 3 weeks now.. everytime i open his cage her just sits there and watches me. Nothing out of the ordinary.. but when/if i reach for him he sprints away. if hes on top of his basking spot he will leap right off and start glass dancing trying to get away. i mean he really flips out. if i do manage to scoop him up, he will leap right out of my hands sometime all the way to the floor! i am really scared and just want him to like me and be comfortable. how can i make him like me and trust me? please help

Patience . . . . patience, and more patience.
Some tips. Dont move fast and dont try to pick him up and hold him already. Hes still adjusting to his new surroundings and to you.
Start by putting your hand inside the viv for a few minutes. Dont touch him yet. Do this for a few days, till he doesnt react to it anymore.
Then move your hand slowly nearer to him but dont touch yet, also for a few minutes at a time a few times a day till he is used to that.
Then you can try to gently stroke him on top of his head. Come at him slowly with your hand from the front. Once this is under control, you can go for picking him up.
It seems like a slow process but it works, It did for me.

Also, I know it's gross... but if you can hold a cricket or silkie or roach.. etc...... and try to get him to eat out of your hand sometimes will speed up the process:)

Me and my new beardie are going through this right now, but I brought him home over a month ago and he is still scared of me. Sometimes when I walk by his tank he darts off of the basking rock and runs into the glass. I can't even clean his tank without him absolutly freaking out. If my hand goes into the tank slow he doesn't worry and is chill, I have also fed him fruits and worms by hand and when I put crickets in he is right on them. I only got him out of the tank 3 times and since then he runs as soon as he is in my hand. I want to give him a bath here and there and take him out to clean his cage less stressfully, but I guess I need to take is slow and hope for the best.

Go slow and easy It will take time. My friend found a smaller tank and she would sit with her hand inside with her BD that way he got used to her hand being in with her.....
