Yes collards are one of the staple greens you can use. Other good ones are endive, mustard, alfalfa

If you use alfalfa, make sure you use the actual plant and not the sprouts. The sprouts aren't a staple and are not as healthy for them.

Iam forced to feed my dragon collard greens.  Because I cant find the ones he likes, I guess its not their season.  Huh  He doesn't really like them, he preferes mustard greens, he loves those!  But after having to give him that with other stuff here and there he is okay with it now.

My lilo guy doesn't like collard or mustard.
I try carrot today he lick n eat only if I hand feed him it.
Maybe he only like Orange color food, ha!! I got myself a butternut so going to try that tomorrow morning.

Butternut isn't a staple. It's an addition .

Butternut and most other squashes are fine to use as a staple diet. Many dragons prefer squash over leafy greens. http://www.beautifuldragons.com/Nutrition.html

Yeah, my dragon LOVES zucchini. I cut it up the size of matchsticks. I also give him frozen yellow squash slices. I defrost it some in the microwave, then cut it smaller. He tears them up!  Smiley
