I have had several requests from friends and a couple of contractors who worked on our home for babies from Daku and Carina's breeding. I have the stuff for the set ups for the babies, I've been breeding roaches since last summer, I have a Hovabator incubator, and now they are both the right age and size. Carina is 19 months, 21 inches and 590 grams. Daku is 18 months, 22 inches and 725 grams. I was wondering what type of thermometer I should use in my Hovabator because I read that the one that comes with it isn't very reliable. Any suggestions?

I used the same type of digital with probe that many of us use in our enclosures. I personally prefer to have the female at least 2 years old before breeding. While an 18 month old has reached their full adult length, they often haven't fully matured and developed yet.

I am glad I asked about the thermometer first. Thank you Crystal Smiley. I had read that 18 months was a good age to breed a female. I had a feeling to come back here and ask some questions first! Carina is 21 months, and Daku 20 months. I dug out their records and checked the dates against my memory. Darned menopause, lol.  I hadn't planned on breeding Sookie and Cobar for four months yet because he is only 14 months old now. By the time he hits 18 months she will be two.

Here's a couple pics I took of Carina swimming tonight:

And a couple of Sookie.

Thanks again Crystal Smiley

They're looking great! You're such a good dragon mommy. They're both going to make you some pretty babies.
