hi all. sorry if i sound stupid been a while since i done this, got my new beardies 3 weeks about male and female 5 years old they had breeaded before, they have been showing all signs of mating, there previous owners just kind of gave up on them. the female has all of a sudden started thrasing around when i go to hold her to check her stomach to see if any signs off eggs yet, anyone any advice on how to calm her down nothing i do seems to work.

It's always best to have weights and fecals run prior to breeding.  If either dragon is not up to par, their health will suffer as a result of egg production and the mating activity.

thrashing around could indicate discomfort due to eggs.  And you might want to have that checked.  I don't normally allow females that age to breed due to possibility of binding and prolapse.

The easiest way to check her yourself, is to place her in the tub in water.  Raise her tail off the ground and observe her abdomen for eggs.

thank you i just managed to get hold of previous owner and she said she thinks they matted before i got them but didnt want to tell us, i kind of gone mad at her as when i got them the viv was discusting and not been cleaned for ages. i will get them both checked out next week and she is due to have a bath tomorrow so will do as you suggested and think i will also weight them both tonight and keep an eye on there weights as i have now found my scales. been a while since i had beardies so trying to get back into it just didnt expect this so soon.
