I think its due to the increased heat and humidity but my colony has exploded in growth in the past 2 months. I now feed them half a cup of water crystals a day! Thats just the nymphs.. Anyways I wanted to share a glimpse of my colony: http://www.youtube.com/user/rancid11999988?feature=mhum#p/a/u/0/ZuY6XR6sfMU

Well, when things are at the best optimum, that would indeed encourage the colony to grooooooooooooooow !
Might want to add that 1/2 orange too... that also encourages breeding !
Both colonies look great !

Hi Beardo

How long did it take to ex-plod?

I started with 100 Mixed between Nymphs and 4 adult pairs and It has been almost 2 months and I haven't seen any new ones yet. No that said, I think there are a couple females that may be carrying now as they look extra plump.

Thanks

Fliehigh

PS. I have been using the "Janie Roach " for the colony (The orange slices), cat food with Fish flakes and actually Bearded dragon ground together and also vegtible ends.

Try switching the cat food with chicken starter chow.. After I did that.. I had some really nice growth happening.
Hope this helps.

Hi Janie

Where did you buy that?

I assume a farm/feed store would have it?

Thanks

Tom.. I feel your pain, buddy!

Yes, I got mine at the feed store.. cost under $20 bucks... Once home, I used 2 and 5 gallon buckets to separate for storage.  Most of the small containers went directly into the deep freezer.. the others, 5 gallons, left in the back room, with the one in use, near the bins and enclosures...
Hope this helps.
