Ok.. so I have a juvenile beardie and I've had him about six weeks. I just took him outside today to get some fresh air and some sunshine, and he really started freakin out! He was showing full beard, open mouth, and he puffed up his whole body. There was nothing around to startle him so I'm not sure what happened? Has this happened to anyone else?

They usually get very defensive when they are outside. They are on high alert for predetors so what you saw was normal. I recommend a mesh cage or a harness when you take them outside

I've kept mine out for several hours but I offer areas of shade and water.

Well if it's too cold then I won't take them out for maybe more than a 10 minute car ride but if it's hot enough I take them out for several hours with me. I go to car meets all the time in the summer and Magellan usually comes along for the whole day.

It might sound silly but my dragon gets bored at home all the time. I feel guilty when I'm out more than I'm home so if it is a nice warm day I do take him with me. I've even got a cover hot water bottle for him  Tongue
