I have been "trying" to use the Exo Terra Solar Glo 125W and all it does when I turn it on is flicker and have only had it for probably 1 month. Please post suggestions on the best long lasting/durable compact bulb! Thanks!

None of the actual compact bulbs are recommended. MVB's, like the solar glo, are fine but not actually compacts Smiley The megaray or the t-rex active uv heat are the only ones recommended for dragons.
It's also possible that your fixture isn't designed for the wattage you're using. Is the fitting (the part the bulb screws into) plastic or ceramic? It should have a sticker somewhere on it that says what wattage it's designed for.

I actually tried one of the "New" SolarGlow's (It has a BLACK box) and it and the 2 replacements were Faulty, so I decided to switch to the Florecent Tubes.

Was the Solarglo in a black box? It is almost all black with a little grey on it?

It may be the bulb if it is, as they where having a  lot of issues with them.

Yes it is. It was working fine for about 2 weeks then started flickering when I turned it on.

The Solarglo's are a MVB so they give off both UV and Heat.

I had a real hard time with the Solarglo and after going through 4 of them in 3 weeks I gave up and went to Tubes. While I was doing my research I found out that new ones in the Black boxes are being made somewhere differntly then the old ones and they have had issues with the Glass, the balists and output levels.

I will PM you a link to an article related to issues with the Bulb.

It almost sounds as if the balast is bad in the bulb.

With the MVB's if turn it on and let it heat up and then turn it off, the bulb itself will not turn back on for 20 minutes or more as it has to cool down first and then re-light. This is a function built into the ballast of the bulb and it sounds like yours may be bad.
