have a female beardie who is gravid with her 3'rd clutch. The time it took between her first and second clutch was 22 days. It has now been 34 days and she hasnt started to dig or go in her lay box. Is this normal?

It is common for a beardie to lay two clutches of eggs but at the same time it is possible for her to only lay one batch. What do the eggs that she laid look like shape and colour wise?

1 mating can give you up to 3 clutches of eggs. Luckily for us that's a good thing for breeders the down side is is that the people who get them that don't know if they've been around a male and got preg well you should always have a area that she can lay her eggs in just incase

a female can have eggs even tho she hasn't been around a male. you know for sure she's gravid? if so, i'd say it probably could be any day now. maybe try giving more frequent baths?

Is she housed alone? If not, the stress of having another dragon with her could be keeping her from laying. Try providing a lay box separate from her enclosure, in a separate area that's quiet so she won't be disturbed. Some of my girls won't dig in anything less than 18" deep, so try giving her a deeper container. I use a sterylite bin for my girls, and place a screen over the top with a low watt heat light for them.

yes she is housed alone. i can make a seperate lay box but i dont have a heat light. I live in australia and its different over here, we don't have the black thing that you screw your light into that u can move anywhere we have fitting that screw in under the lid of the cage with the heat light in it. i can put her in a plastic tub with high walls and that would make the play sand deeper, then i could place the plastic tub in her cage so there is warmth and uvb, but if she isnt ready to lay (ive done it before) she scratches at the walls and tries to get out. The thing is, its been 37 days and shes very gravid and hasn't shown any signs of digging. She is eating well, and crapping so her digestion is fine. Ill do what i said with the lay box and then ill sit and observe her for 20 mins quietly and see if she does anything. If she trys to get out ill remove her and take out the box. Then ill wait till she shows signs. How does this all sound? Cheers

Sounds like a good plan. Just watch her carefully, she's going to need to lay before too long. I had one girl go 47 days between clutches once, so I wouldn't stress too much yet, though.
