I know many people don't think Phoenix worms make a good staple because of their size, but for a young dragon, nutritionally, is it okay?
Up until about three weeks ago, Euli's feeder insect of choice was dusted crickets, mostly because that's all I could find around here, and most places online wouldn't ship to New Hampshire in mid winter. Then, a new shop opened just a few miles from me that carries PW's and silkworms. Problem is, now that Euli's gotten a taste of them, he won't even look at a cricket. He ate a total of eight crickets over the last day and a half, because I was out of PW's and silkworms. (And, to be honest, he's not even that interested in silkworms. But he'll eat PW's by the dozens if I let him!)
He's just a peanut - only about 14" - and I'm assuming that not eating enough isn't good. I went and picked up 300 PW's and 150 silkworms...and he all but inhaled 35 PW's (and 10 silkworms) in 5 minutes. Do I really need to feed crix? Are there other feeders that I can give for more variety? He isn't interested in crix at all, and will only eat the occasional roach (I've offered turks and dubias.) UGH!
