My female, Sydone, laid a clutch of eggs last January with my daughter's male, Bowen.  I just started the introduction process with my new male, Pan and Sydone about a month ago.  I have been with the each time they were together.  Pan finally figured out what to do and on Feb. 14 he bred Sydone.  I had calculated that I would see eggs in 4-6 weeks.  Imagine my surprise when I came home yesterday and Sydone had laid 16 eggs!  Could she have retained sperm from her mating with Bowen last year?  Could these eggs be Pan's?  Help!!!

Beardie females can retain sperm for up to a year and lay multiple clutches.  Bowen is most likely the father.
