hi everyone, i woke up this morning and saw my female finishing off laying some eggs (a total of 20).  i own a male that lives in a cage underneath her, but i haven't ever let them mate yet.  this is the first time i've seen any dragon lay eggs and i have a few questions.

1. can a bearded dragon produce unfertilized eggs?

2. is there anything i need to do in order keep her healthy at this point? i can imagine that laying 20 eggs would be stressful to her body.

3.  is there any way to tell if the eggs are fertilized or not by looking at them?

Hi,

Yes females can lay eggs that are unfertilized.  If they have never been together, they are not fertile.  Yes there is a way to candle the eggs to see veins inside, but in your case this is not necessary.
thanks

Hi,

I forgot to mention, give her a couple of baths to make sure she is hydrated.  She needs a higher calcium intake to make up for the loss of calcium she occured during laying eggs.

Infertile eggs is just a part of having a female. If she's over 18 months to 2 years, you can breed her whenever you're ready. Please be sure that you've done a lot of research and really know what you're getting into first, though.
There's no way of knowing whether this will be her only clutch or if she'll lay more. I've had females that never lay, some that only do once or twice a year, and others that will lay consistently on a cycle.
