Has anyone else noticed that there are always way more males for sale than females?  I guess that breeders would be holding more females back for their own programs, but I don't think that they would be able to hold on to enough to make a significant difference in the balance.  Are females more fragile, or are there just less of them born?

somehow i produce more females in my clutches.  Females aren't more fragile. 
But to answer your question, there's no proven method for temperature sexing.

i don't know, in my area i seem to find more females for sale than males.  i think it's just how the cookie crumbles.
