I use UPS eventhough they have the "don't ask, don't tell" policy since I believe a majority of the reptile shippers use them.  They just don't want the liability of caring for live animals so they prefer to have little or no policy.  I only ship UPS Overnight delivered by 10:30 or noon, there is too much of a chance to use "by end of the day" delivery for the 5 bucks it saves you.

I am also a FedEx certified live reptile shipper, and the pricing is a little bit more than UPS.  What got me with FedEx was my customer service lady was very nice at helping me complete my paperwork, and she even offered shipping discounts to help me get started.  Well, those discounts never materialized even when I asked what was up, so now I don't use them unless a customer prefers FedEx.  I just don't appreciate the bait and switch.

I have also received animals through USPS and have had good experiences.  From what I understand the animals are actually shipped overnight by FedEx because of a contract with the government, but delivered  and processed by postal employees.  That can be good and bad.  The price is unbeatable, but there is definitely an unknown risk.  I prefer to have the animal held up at the Post Office for pick up than have it delivered to my home.

fedex does carry the usps overnights... I have never had a problem and my carrier doesnt flip boxes or anything so to what i can see, everythings great with usps here.
