Oooh that would've been so cool to have a black leopard!  I'm glad you mentioned how they changed.  I knew that babies don't generally get their spots until they're much older, I didn't know about the color change!  I'll make sure that if I'm wanting a particular morph to wait until they are at least a few months old then, maybe even 6 months.  Would that be too old for them to acclimate easily to a new keeper?

shouldn't be.  if you give them time to settle in, then frequently work with them.  Some nice treats and keeping their mealie bowl full generally makes them look forward to your return.  lol........bribery ain't it grand.

Isn't it though LOL  Cheesy.  I just read your care sheet on Tom's site.  I will go nice and slow with them.  Heck, I have one dragon that just now lets me pet him without puffing up and being threatening, and he will now let me hand feed him most of the time, not always, but most of the time.  He used to run from the food when I tried to hand feed him before. He still doesn't like being handled though, so I keep that to a minimum.  I've had him for three months now.

gex are a bit different.  some are cautious and some are curious.  depending on which you get is how you address it.
the curious ones will be awake in the day time, watch you as you feed other animals or when you are close to their enclosure and appear to eagerly anticipate you getting into their cage.  (they don't really........they just look that way).  The cautious ones generally hide more during our waking hours.

To have several curious leopards..............is a funny thing to watch.  I've got a group of 6 month olds right now that will chase your finger if you run it outside their enclosure on the glass.  They don't bite.......they just wanna catch it.

Aww that sounds so adorable  Cheesy.  Do certain morphs have predictable personality traits? In your experience, which are the easiest to work with?

i can't say that i've noticed any particular personality traits in the different morphs.
I do notice a considerable difference in adaptation as the morph grows more intricate however.
I have diablo blanchos that are lazy, enigmas that are funny, stripes that are curious and Carrot Tails that are precocious and active.  I don't do much in Albinos anymore, but do have a few Trempers with some great dispositions.  The aptors and raptors, both snake eyed and ecliptic are kewl.......

if i had to choose a pet........I'd take one of the ancient morphs.......you know the ones.........the kind you rarely find because they're not hot sellers.

The main thing is to choose what appeals to you........they live a long time.

So far I love the enigmas, lavender stripes, and the brilliant orange bodied ones (not sure if they're tangerine or carrot tops).  I'm a sucker for lavender and brilliant oranges and yellows  Roll Eyes
