Here is a link to a genetics article that I think will answer your questions.

Simply put, het = heterozygous which mean that they hold a trait but don't physically show it.

True example: I am born brown eyes but my grandfather and half of my aunts are blue eyed. I hold the trait for blue eyes but don't show it. Same goes for dragons with being leatherback, smoothie, silkback, dwarf, albino, translucent, and hypomelanistic/hypo.

No idea what you just said but I got me one of those petsmarthetmut Dragons and she's 13 months old, 18 inches long and weighs 507 grams. Best birthday present I ever had...

Yup, Petsmart but I don't recommend it and wouldn't do it again. Breeders that know what they are doing is the way to go. A few post here. Basically I followed all the recommendations you can find right here on this board. Fed her 3 times a day for 15 minutes each session. She was eating 100+ crickets a day plus her salad. Then she got real sick with pin worms and hook worms, quit eating anything and the real battle began. Again, with this board and it's wealth of Dragon knowledge and a good vet we were able to turn her around and get her well and eating again. Now she is eating twice a day on a diet of silkworms, roaches, phoenix worms and some supers here and there. Still trying to get her back on her salad but she's a stubborn one I'll tell you that right now...
