to the far right of the picture you will see one more actually i think it's two curled up together initially when i found the ledge i counted six of course one or two might have crawled off by the time i snapped the pic. Even if the far right snake(s) are two curled up together i can't find the sixth in the picture now lol.

You know being in an area without any venomous snakes I have no issue tromping through the woods or flipping rocks. Even when I was in a rattlesnake area unless you step on them or provoke them you are fine as they give you lots of warning. Are copper or cottons dangerous at all to us?

Yes, they have venom, which kind I am not sure.. I live in areas where cotton mouths are known to come out... I tend NOT to tramp around the swamps with less than boots, and pants tucked inside.
Hope that helps !

coppers i think are overrated on their venom potency i personally would not seek medical attention if bitten by a copperhead, i've known several people that have just dealt with it and as long as your body is not going into anaphalaxic shock (i may have just massacred the spelling of that) the anti-venin could do more damage than good to you. Cottonmouths are definately more potent. On the plus side cottonmouths are very unlikely to bite, not because they are docile but venom is very expensive for a snake to manufacture, it takes a lot of biological resources and they are very reluctant to use it against the hairless monkeys, even when the hairless monkeys poke them with metal sticks and contort them into various positions and shine bright lights on them for photos. They are mostly bark but rarely bite then again you can always run up against the 1 in 100 snake that is willing to back up it's bluff.
