To my knowledge there is no way to stop the cycle.

As for you Sue, Tessie may not even lay infertiles for you. When I had my female she never laid infertiles in the 4years of her life. It all really depends on the dragon. You can always keep a small pan of dirt/sand mixture or one of the 2 just for her to play and dig and as an emergency lay box if she does lay anything for you. They do not have a time frame in which they lay eggs (at least not in captivity).
