Beautiful pictures, thank you for sharing them with us! The soil looks to be hard packed with just a thin, loose top layer. Would that be an accurate description?

I envy you, living there where you can see them in their natural home. Australia is on my "must visit" list, but I'm afraid it's going to be quite a while before I can. Thank you so much for sharing your beautiful country with us through all of your pictures.
