Can you do without the dome part of a heat lamp if it's inside the enclosure?  They seem to take up more room than necessary and my dad has a couple of outdoor floodlight holders (I can't remember the actual term right now lol) and they can hold the right wattage, they're easier to mount inside the enclosure, and you can get them to point in different directions if necessary.

my caging has internal mounts without the domes.  Domes are used for reflecting escaping heat back downward.  If your caging has a ceiling, then very little of the heat penetrates the ceiling to escape.  Mount the fixtures, do not attempt to hang them.

I have my heat lamps inside with no dome. However I found that the dome helps to narrow the light beam and helps heat a specific spot better.
