Has anyone had any success, or is it even possible, to encourage a beardie to poop in one area of their enclosure? Our 12-month-old male tends to poop on his basking rocks, which makes for a LOT of cleaning! Until he reaches adult size and we get a larger enclosure which we plan on tiling, we are putting down newspapers on the bottom of his aquarium. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated since I (mom) do all the cleaning.

Some dragons will always poop in a specific spot, but I don't think it's something they can really be taught. They just do it on their own, as a matter of preference. You could try bathing him every day until he poops, and he should get the idea that the water is where he's supposed to go.

Mine goes anywhere she feels the "urge", but, if it's in her tank then she runs around banging on the window till I clean it up. Either she likes her "room" to be tidy, or she can't stand her own stink haha

I have tried to train thriller to poop only in water, but to no avail. If you gotta go, you gotta go. I have found though that if I feed him and then give him a bath, he usually will poop then.
If I am not around to "poop" him, he will just go wherever. Sometimes he will go right where he is basking. Then he moves over a bit and returns to basking.
