Just wanted to vent. I hate my petstore! Chance was a "girl"...NOT so much. Now that he is grown some I noticed that HE is a boy...not a girl like I was Promised. He is a looker for sure but now I need to find him a home. He is stressing the ladies out! I love him :'(   ...and now I have to let him go. Anybody know of any rescue people out there near ky?

Well I'll be honest....like many other people out there I made the mistake of getting my beardie info from the petstore folk...thinking they would teach me all I need to know...However in my attempt to "learn it all" before I bought my girl Charlie....I was completely given *BS* information. I bought a bunch of books on beardies that believe it or not were just as wrong. (the info on the net and in books is VERY different) I've had Charlie for about 1 1/2 years...she is my baby, and I though....hmmm she needs a buddy (which I know now was a very "human" assumption) I went to the same petstore and bought Chance (I was told was a girl) They got along fantastic...no fights...no problems at all. Then came Chewie (girl) that I just got from another mis-informed person. (I have a HUGE viv btw) Everyone was still "happy", the petstore folks said "oh they'll be great together in that enclosure" Then Chance started acting very mad all the time...right about then I got the internet....found this site (and MANY others) got a bit of an education in the reality of the situation. I thought I had done all my homework...boy was I wrong! Since that post I got another viv for Chance and two more on the way..(one for Charlie and one for Chewie). I just freaked for a min. I wanted the best for my little bumpy babies and I ended up giving them a hard time...just makes me soooo mad that there are people out there that see these little things as a quick profit and will lie to you (and put your little friends in harms way) just for a quick buck.

i must say that is very responsible to do this...although its a tough decision to let one of your babies go, you are doing it for their own well being...have you thought about making stacked enclosures so it took up less space and you could keep all 3? many of the members here have done it...i would just hate to see you have to give up a baby if there was a way to keep him/her

well I've got them al seperated out for now...and I'm waiting on the new cages to get here (got the stackable). I guess maybe hes going thru changes? If I'm holding him and he sees the girl's he starts head banging and they wave...but I have him on the other end of the room and they can't see eachother now...so the peace is back LOL

That's hormones for you !  They are all waving cause they most likely "know" he's male...
Just keep him out of their line of sight, and things will settle down in a bit...

I have 3 males, and 1 female... so I'm sorta in your shoes lol.
